Lemon Bars are such a delightful treat that my grandchildren simply can’t resist! These little golden squares are tangy, sweet, and absolutely perfect for any occasion—I’ve been making them for years.
What makes these Lemon Bars so special is that wonderful balance of buttery shortbread crust and zesty lemon filling, all coming together so beautifully. The secret is in starting with that crumbly butter, powdered sugar, and flour mixture for the base—it creates such a tender, delicious foundation for the bright lemon layers on top.
I love sharing these with neighbors and at church potlucks, watching everyone’s faces light up when they bite into one. My family has so many memories gathered around the kitchen table with a plate of these bars and a cup of tea—it’s one of those recipes that brings us all together.
