Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Sour Cream Coffee Cake is one of my most requested recipes, and I think you’ll understand why the moment you take that first bite. This tender, moist cake has been a favorite in our family for generations, and it’s easier to make than you might think.

The secret to this cake’s wonderful texture is the way the sour cream works with the baking soda—they create a magical reaction that makes the cake so light and fluffy. The rich butter and sugar cream together beautifully, giving you that homemade taste that no store-bought cake can match.

I love serving this with a hot cup of coffee on Sunday mornings, and it’s always the first thing to disappear when the grandchildren visit. Whether you’re bringing it to a potluck or enjoying it at your own kitchen table, this cake brings people together and fills the home with the most wonderful aroma.
