Homemade Beef Stew Pot Pie is one of my most treasured recipes, dear—the kind of dish that fills your kitchen with the most wonderful aromas and brings everyone to the table with smiles on their faces. It’s hearty, it’s satisfying, and it reminds me of simpler times when a good home-cooked meal was the greatest gift you could give your family.
What makes this pot pie so special is the golden, flaky crust made from scratch with lard and flour, paired with tender beef and a creamy, comforting stew that’s just bursting with flavor. The milk brings such richness to every spoonful, and taking the time to build it all from the ground up means you know exactly what’s going into your loved ones’ bellies.
I’ve served this dish countless times at my table, watching my grandchildren’s eyes light up as they dig into that warm, savory filling beneath the buttery crust. There’s something so special about sharing a meal like this—it’s the kind of dish that becomes part of your family’s story, passed down with love and made again and again through the years.
