Chili Fruit Salad is one of those delightful dishes that surprises everyone at the table with its wonderful blend of sweet and spicy flavors. I love making this when I want to bring something a little unexpected to gatherings, and it never fails to get folks talking!
What makes this recipe truly special is that beautiful balance between the tangy apple cider vinegar and sugar syrup combined with the heat of fresh red pepper—it creates such a lovely complexity that brings out the natural sweetness of the watermelon, pineapple, and strawberries. The warm vinegar dressing really lets those fresh fruits shine in a way that plain old fruit salad just can’t.
I’ve served this at countless family reunions and potlucks, and it’s always the first bowl to empty—folks can’t resist trying something new! My grandchildren used to be skeptical about the chili in fruit, but now they ask for seconds every single time.
