Sue’s Coffee Cake is one of those wonderful recipes that’s been passed down through our family for generations, and I’m so happy to share it with you today. It’s simple enough for a beginner baker, yet so delicious that everyone always asks for seconds.
What makes this cake truly special is how the butter and sugar are creamed together to create that tender, moist crumb that just melts in your mouth. The combination of flour, baking powder, and a touch of salt works beautifully with the milk to give you a cake that’s light and fluffy every single time.
I love serving this with a cup of coffee on Sunday mornings, and it’s always the first thing to disappear from the dessert table at family gatherings. My grandchildren have wonderful memories of helping me bake this cake, and now they’re making it for their own families too.
