The Instant Potato Sourdough Starter is such a wonderful way to begin your sourdough journey, my dear! I’ve been making this for years, and it never fails to give me the most beautiful, bubbly starter that’s ready to bake with in just five days.
What makes this recipe so special is how the potatoes create a naturally nurturing environment for your yeast to thrive, sweetie. The simple combination of just water, sugar, potatoes, and yeast creates that perfect balance—no fancy equipment needed, just time and a little patience.
I love sharing a jar of my starter with neighbors and family members who want to bake their own bread from scratch. There’s something so heartwarming about passing along a living culture and knowing it’ll bring homemade goodness to their tables for years to come.
