The Cream Soup From Scratch Recipe is one of my absolute favorites to make when I want something truly homemade and comforting. There’s nothing quite like stirring together fresh ingredients right in your own kitchen, knowing exactly what’s going into every spoonful.
What makes this soup so special is how the buttermilk creates a lovely tangy richness, while the cornstarch helps thicken it up just perfectly. The combination of dry basil and thyme gives it such a warm, herbaceous flavor that reminds me of Sunday dinners at Grandma’s table.
I love serving this soup in my favorite bowls and watching my grandchildren come back for seconds. It’s the kind of dish that brings everyone together around the table, and it always makes me happy to share something so nourishing with the people I love most.
